Comment: Bottomless shale river stones. Makes for very soft going and easy to bog down a vehicle. Dangerous as the area was so wide there were no winching points available to pull ourselves out. We were out of our comfort zone and aware of the remoteness and our vulnerability. No place for foolish decisions.
